Our Guide

For the past 50 years Don Guillermo has been healing his community in this remote corner, where the Amazon meets the Andes, at the eyebrow of the jungle. From the young age of 12, he was guided and initiated into the world of curanderismo (healing with medicinal plants) by his grandfather who was a renowned healer.
Jackie’s experience as a facilitator leading these retreats for the past decade, combined with Don Guillermo’s intuition and expertise; will ensure a very personal dieta experience; where a particular plant will be given according to the individual
needs of each participant, as well as the traditional “grandmother” dieta.
The retreat site, is situated by the tranquil banks of a small river with glorious mountainous jungle views. It takes a two hour car ride from Tarapoto to a small village, where we begin a short hike through jungle trails to our destination.

Our Team

For over 20 years, David has been guiding fellow travelers in and around his home in the Andes. Walking the high mountain peaks and playing his flute have been his lifetime passions. From a young age he has recorded the melodies and sounds from the Q’ero, one of the oldest cultures in the “mundo andino”. As he started his own journey into the plant spirit world he has been able to connect with many powerful healers, thus opening up the path for others to benefit from the knowledge of these people.
 During our journey we will also be under the care and guidance of an Andean Paqo from the Q’ero nation. The Q’eros, more than most indigenous communities in Peru, have maintained cultural traditions which have survived from the pre-Hispanic era. Ranging from agricultural to medical to spiritual, these customs reflect the Andean belief system and its close connection to the Earth and surrounding mountains.
 They are truly indigenous shamans and probably the last of their kind.

Our Team

Raimy is a Traditional Curandero (Healer) from Cusco, Peru. Initiated and trained in the wisdom teachings of the Northern region of Peru, he holds the ancient lineage of the Sacred Plant medicine known as Wachuma (or San Pedrito). Raimy, at the age of 18, began his apprenticeship in the alchemical mystery teachings of transformation and transmutation. He continues to be committed to the ’service of love’ through ceremony, ritual and healing practices. Raimy is a founding member of the Alternativas Medicinales Ancestrales Foundation in Cusco. As a keeper of Ancient Wisdom, he has been invited to share his knowledge and lead ceremonies, workshops and specialized journeys throughout South America.
